Teaching

I have taught, both in-person and online, at all levels of the undergraduate geography curriculum, with a particular specialism in historical and cultural geography. I have delivered lectures, tutorials and workshops for first-year survey courses and more specialist second- and third-year modules on political, cultural, and historical geography. I also taught a series of first-year tutorials, which focused on key academic study skills. I used my communication skills and adapted my technique to these different settings, facilitating inclusive student-led discussions in smaller groups and delivering engaging and accessible lectures to a classroom of 70 students.

Fieldwork
I taught on the 2019 Cyprus field trip at Royal Holloway. I supported students to develop their research projects on the cartographical representations of the divided capital city, Nicosia. This role involved providing students with feedback on their proposals and working with them to develop qualitative research methods that were safe, ethical, and practical. I helped students to adjust to the challenges of working in different cultural contexts, providing pastoral support.

Mentoring
At Royal Holloway, I worked as a mentor, providing pastoral support for new postgraduate researchers. This included directing them toward support services where necessary, and helping them to develop research plans.
